Incremental Compensation Strategy

Abstract:
The Fulton County Department of Human Resources Management developed an Incremental Compensation Strategy (ICS). The ICS addresses compensation matters with a more comprehensive and systematic approach than the traditional Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA). COLA’s have not provided sustained improvements in the workforce’s morale, comparable market-based employee earnings, overall employee engagement or the County’s ability to attract and retain top talent. The ICS delivers favorable outcomes for the Fulton County workforce, and ultimately the constituents served. The Fulton County Incremental Compensation Strategy is meritorious.
