STEM in the Library

San Bernardino County, CA
Program Year: 2019

Abstract:
The San Bernardino County Library Department is continually looking for ways to engage with children, and their parents alike, and stoke their interest in the Library as well as learning through all forms of literacy. With the increasing need for students to not only excel in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), but to actively have a genuine interest in STEM, the Library found it necessary to offer the residents within San Bernardino County quality engaging and free STEM based learning opportunities with an emphasis on free. There are limited options for those with financial constraints to participate in high quality STEM programming from coding to robotics that could potentially cost parents hundreds if not thousands of dollars per year on materials and equipment.
