Human Trafficking Task Force

San Bernardino County, CA
Program Year: 2019

The San Bernardino County Human Trafficking Task Force is a regional, multi-agency, law enforcement task force comprised of state, federal, and local agencies. Members of the task force investigate crimes related to the commercialized sex trade, including human trafficking, pimping, and pandering, utilizing a victim-centered approach. They are available 24 hours a day to respond to support victims of sex trafficking throughout the county of San Bernardino and to assist any agency with the investigation of human trafficking-related crimes. The task force has partnered with the District Attorney’s Office to prosecute the defendants involved in these crimes aggressively. The members also work closely with victim support groups that provide long term care, support, and recovery for the trauma affected victims of human trafficking. Over two years since the implementation of the task force, they have rescued hundreds of victims and sent over 30 defendants to state prison, totaling over 150 years of sentences. The task force also provides training for first responders and the community in the identification of human trafficking and its victims.
