Environmental Health Services Mosquito and Vector Control Roundtable

San Bernardino County, CA
Program Year: 2019

San Bernardino County Department of Public Health Environmental Health Services (EHS) is dedicated to improving the quality of life for all residents and visitors by protecting public health, promoting safety and preventing environmental hazards. The EHS Mosquito and Vector Control Program (MVCP) is dedicated to protecting public health through the suppression of mosquito and other vector transmitted diseases. MVCP works to educate the public about safe practices and available services, primarily through community outreach efforts. MVCP tried something new in 2018 with the creation of the Mosquito and Vector Control Roundtable. The Roundtable was an educational event that brought city officials, industry/community partners and other County departments together to collaborate and improve the way mosquito and vector control services are delivered to the public. The Roundtable also allows MVCP to provide educational information to one large group of stakeholders, fosters direct relationships with city officials, and enables them to request tailored educational workshops, and involve MVCP staff in future community events.
